Ryan Turk named SLIAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

(St. Louis, Mo.) – Webster University's Ryan Turk, a junior from Aurora, Colo. (Smoky Hill), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for November 16-18.

            Turk, a 5-9 guard, was named the Most Valuable Player at the Help the Homeless Classic hosted by Webster University. He opened the season with a 21-point performance in the Gorloks' 70-54 victory versus Transylvania. Turk then hit a half court shot at the buzzer to propel Webster to a 51-49 victory versus Hanover College.

            In two games played, Turk averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, dished out five assists, while also shooting 52.7 percent from the field, including 54.5 percent from three point range, and 87.5 percent from the charity stripe.

            The Gorloks return to action on Saturday against Wisconsin-Platteville in the Webster Classic beginning at 3 p.m. at Grant Gym.
